Privacy Policy

This is the Privacy Policy (“Policy”) of SCDPP.com, a web site (“Site”) used to access the South Carolina’s statewide payday lending database (“Database”) pursuant to Chapter 39 of Title 34 of South Carolina Code of Laws, South Carolina Deferred Presentment Services Act (the “Act”).

SCDPP takes its responsibility of safeguarding your personal privacy very seriously; we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of your personal information. We protect your personal information from loss or misuse through the use of industry-recognized security safeguards that meet or exceed federal requirements for information safety and security.

Who we are.

SCDPP.com is an on-line service of Catalis (“Catalis”) that allows Licensed Payday Lenders (“Licensees”) to validate consumer eligibility pursuant to the Act, and regulations promulgated there under by the BFI, and provide for the tracking of information regarding all such transactions. Catalis is a third party, privately held company under contract with the South Carolina Bureau of Financial Institutions (“BFI”) to provide the Database.

Privacy Notice.

Privacy and security are our highest priority - ensuring lawful electronic access to payday loan information while maintaining privacy is a guiding principle of our program. Personal data in our possession is maintained and used in ways that respect individual privacy. Catalis educates its employees about the importance of protecting personal information and privacy, and only authorized employees of Catalis and the BFI have access to Borrower Identification Data (“BID”).

The purpose of this Policy is to notify you of:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected through the Site;
  2. The organization collecting the information;
  3. How the information is used;
  4. With whom the information may be shared;
  5. The kind of security procedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control;
  6. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

If you feel that we are not abiding by the Policy, please contact Catalis Customer Service by e-mail at mail@catalisgov.com.

Information we collect through the SCDPP Site.

If you fill out the "Contact Us" form, your name and other identifying information will not be sold or shared with any person or organization (other than the BFI). Your e-mail address or telephone number may be used by authorized Catalis employees to contact you concerning your comments, questions or complaints.

How your information is used.

When a Licensee enters your BID into the database, we use the information to determine eligibility for a payday loan, extended installment plan, and extended term loan pursuant to the Act. The results of the eligibility determination are furnished to the Licensee.

The information contained in the database is authorized by the Act. Your information and the results of the eligibility determination may also be used by the BFI for purposes consistent with the Act.

We do not sell or rent information to third parties for marketing programs or for any other purpose other than that authorized under the Act.

Limited distribution of personal information.

When a Licensee presses the "Submit" button and the borrower’s information is provided to Catalis, Catalis will process the information through the Database and will return an appropriate response to the Licensee. SCDPP will also treat information sent indirectly (via either the IVR, Interface, email, fax and phone) to Catalis by a Licensee in the same manner it treats information submitted directly through the Site.

Security.

The Site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Catalis uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to safeguard your sensitive personal information during on-line transactions. Using this widely accepted form of encryption, your transaction is secured from a Licensee’s personal computer to the Catalis computers processing your request, and the processing computers are located behind a secure firewall. This method protects your information.

This notice should not be construed in any way as guaranteeing, or warranting as fail proof, the security of information exchanged between Licensees and Catalis. Any changes to this Policy will be communicated through the SCDPP.com Site at least 30 days in advance of implementation. Information collected before changes are made will be secured according to the Policy in effect prior to the change.
